Legs, ports, dates, and distances

Leg Map From To Departure Arrival (ETA) Distance
1 1 Bergen Portsmouth 7/4 11/4 750 nm.
3 4 Portsmouth Vigo (Spain) 14/4 21/4 670 nm.
4 5 Vigo Mallorca 22/4 29/4 1050 nm.

Information about the legs
Leg 1 will be coastal sailing from Bergen to Stavanger.  Here we will make a short stop (4-6 hours).
If the ship is fully booked we sail directly to Portsmouth (map 2). This will shorten the sailing distance by 100 nm, giving us an ETA about 20 hours ahead of plan.

In Portsmouth we will rest, get new supplies and passengers.
Leaving Portsmouth we will take the inside route, passing Isle of  Wight into the channel, sailing close to the English coast until we reach the Atlantic.  Then the wind and conditions will decide the route to Vigo (Spain).

The stop in Vigo will be 1 or 2 days before the final leg to Mallorca (Palma or Magaluf).  This is a preliminary setup, if the passengers or crew wants to change some ports or dates this can be done. But the weather conditions are the main factor for the trip. So we will not set sail into the Bay of Biscay if the weather forecast predicts a force 8 or 9 gale.

Prices and conditions
The basic price is 90 Euro per day. This includes accommodation, all food and normal beverage onboard, linen, etc. Extra charges for diesel, harbour fees and alcoholic drinks.
If you are a group of sailors who wants to enjoy the whole trip (Bergen to Mallorca) the captain can set up a route and stops to your specifications and wishes. The complete trip is around 2500 nm. and is estimated to last for 22 days including 4 stops.

Coming to Bergen
If coming from the London area you can fly direct from Gatwick to Bergen with Norwegian or SAS airlines.  There are cheaper flights from Stansted to Haugesund with Ryanair.
From Haugesund you can take the speed ferry to Bergen and the Captain will meet you.
From Holland (Schiphol) there are direct flights with KLM to Bergen. From other areas in Europe (Germany, Denmark, Sweden) you can fly via Copenhagen, Schiphol, Frankfurt or Oslo. Please contact the Captain if more information is needed.

What to bring
All passengers bring their personal belongings (for indoor and outdoor use), including water proof clothes, boots etc to last for each leg. A sleeping bag is also required. The ship has lifejackets, harnesses and all safety gear needed, but all passengers are free to bring their personal gear if wanted. The ship has 220 V converters so items like Ipods, shavers, pc and other items using 220 V can be used. The ship and crew is insured but all onboard should have their own personal travel insurance. Also remember things as passports, medical cards, licenses, medicines etc. Remember that some legs can last up to 7 days (maybe more if bad weather or unpredicted things occur).

The Captain welcomes you onboard the SS Excallibur
